Subject: ACRE T25 hearing 20th Feb Date: Tue, 5 Feb 2002 14:55:57 -0000 From: "Sue Mayer" To: "GeneWatch UK" Dear All, ACRE are having a 'hearing' on T25 maize to 'explore the scientific basis for the challenges to the risk assessment submitted under Directive 90/220/EEC for marketing approval of T25 GM maize'. These are the challenges that came out under the Chardon LL seed listing hearing (currently adjourned until the rules have been changed - just my little joke....). Anyway, the public can come along and hear the fun - there will be a variety of as yet undisclosed witnesses and there are going to be some invited experts (don't know who) in the audience who may be asked questions as well. And it also seems like the public aren't too clear how where and when and who can go (admission by ticket only of course). So in the interests of encouraging public information this is to help you get there. Just don't forget it it is only the experts in the audience who will be able to say anything if asked, the public will just have to listen quietly. So: 10.30am - 2.30pm on 20th February, DEFRA, Rooms 7A,B & C, Ashdown House, 123 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6DE Tickets from the ACRE Secretariat - Adrian Butt is organising it and his number is 020 7944 5284. Divisional enquiries on 020 7944 5229. I look forward to seeing lots of you there.
